Short of placing her in a laboratory, voters will have to accept Rep. Michele Bachmann’s insistence that her migraines will not impair ‘my ability to serve as commander in chief.’ Not that Bachmann is alone in offering such assurances. In a letter to the congresswoman, the House of Representatives’ physician wrote: ‘Your migraines occur infrequently and have known trigger factors of which you are aware and know how to avoid.’ Not exactly an assurance that Bachmann will never get a debilitating migraine, but helpful.

Neither Bachmann’s assurances nor the doctor’s report, however, invalidate the questions raised about her condition after a Daily Caller report that it has incapacitated her for days at a time. The health of presidential candidates is fair game. The fact that there are now answers about Bachmann’s condition doesn’t mean the questions shouldn’t have been asked.
