Free expression, as Dan Wasserman starkly illustrates, isn’t for everyone. Nor does it always pay to stick your neck out, as Tom Toles’ departing Glenn Beck might attest. And this being tax week, I dissed a disparate system. Just my assessment, of course. Death and taxes may be inevitable, but so too are media budget cuts. Today marks the end of a 6 1/2-year year run for this feature. Many thanks to The Times for allowing me to share the brilliantly clever work of my peers (and for tolerating my often painful puns), and much gratitude to each and every reader.
