God's address? Return to sender
A Nebraska judge dismissed a lawsuit against the Almightly earlier this week -- that's right, a lawsuit filed against God -- and not, as he was probably tempted to do, on the grounds that the plaintiff had lost his mind. No, Judge Marlon Polk, proceeding with judicial rigor, threw out the suit because God had not been properly served.
"Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant, this action will be dismissed with prejudice," write judge Marlon Polk.
According to the BBC story on the suit (Europeans love tales of American wackiness) state Senator Ernie Chambers alleges that God has threatened him and the people of Nebraska, while also wreaking "widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."
Polk is wrong, Chambers contends, because God is omniscient and therefore fully informed about the suit. He's mulling an appeal. The story didn't mention whether God had legal representation (insert your lawyers-in-hell joke here).

Chambers should have served his complaint on George W. Bush, who has proclaimed to the messenger and agent of his god, that this country in particular is so hot and bothered about by theses conservative republicans, who have managed to insert "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the back of this country's currency.

A similar suit against Satan was dismissed for lack of service of process in the late 1970s. I think it was titled Mayo v. Satan and His Staff.
