In Friday's Letters to the Editor

September 5, 2008 |  1:00 am

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah!

Readers get worked up about Gloria Steinem getting worked up about Sarah Palin, in Friday's letters.

And John Travers, of Hollywood, loses his lunch -- make that his breakfast -- over a different kind of red meat: a Times story about autopsies and the students who love them.

Not often does one find -- outside of a Mickey Spillane novel, anyway -- such colorful prose as "thrusts a razor into his chest, unzipping his brown skin to reveal a thick layer of yolk-colored fat."

Badges for lobbyists and digital television, too.

You betcha I watched the debate Thursday night. I'm 83, and watched it with a group of housemates, ages 23-25.

We couldn't decide which she resembled more -- Chatty Cathy (pull her string and she recites the programmed responses) or a Stepford clone.

Her folksy style and winks are not attributes needed by a VP within a heartbeat of the presidency. I shudder to think of the possibility. She should go home and take care of her brood and ne'er do well hubby.

Poor Gloria should have gotten her facts straight before she wrote her drivel. HRC has to be the scariest person i have ever seen, has Gloria lost her mind? Sarah Palin is not perfect and doesn't claim to be and as far as winning the election by giving out a $1200 energy rebate you should have checked your dates, Sarah has been our governor for almost two years, the rebate was decided on a couple of months ago.
