In Wednesday's Letters to the Editor

September 3, 2008 | 12:20 am

Sarah_palin_country_first In Wednesday's Letters, thoughts on Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol's pregnancy.  Charles R. McKirdy, of Poway, writes:

I find Palin's statement that she and her husband are proud of their duaghter "Bristol's decision to have her baby" interesting in view of the fact that Gov. Palin, Sen. McCain and the rest of the Republican Party would deny that "decision" to other parents' daughters.

Other writers zeroed in on John McCain instead.  Writes Bill Hessell, of Culver City:

Putting "Country First" does not include selecting a minimally-qualified running mate for whatever voting blocs that candidate may attract.  McCain may have a lot of political experience, but his judgment leaves much to be desired.

Privacy for medical records and kudos for retired cops on movie sets, too.
