In Thursday's Letters to the editor

September 4, 2008 |  1:00 am

john mccain, barack obama, insurance, hurricane gustav, justice department, opinion l.a., letters Thursday's letters lead off with responses to Bob Kerrey's op-ed about John MCain's war record.  Kerrey is an Obama supporter, but readers wonder if his op-ed suggests otherwise.  "With friends like Bob Kerrey, Barack Obama doesn't need enemies," writes Michael Vetrie, of Canyon Country.

Edward Saraffian, of Los Angeles, agrees:

...I don't think a McCain supporter could have written a more supportive article.  What I see in McCain's military background is a courageous man who does not crack under unbelievable pressure.  This is the kind of president I want.

Websites for the blind, Hurricane Gustav, and pay-as-you-drive auto insurance, too.
