I wonder if Fox News will call Bristol Palin a "Baby Mama?"

September 2, 2008 | 12:06 pm

Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, John McCain, Bristol Palin, campaign 2008 Remember when Fox News referred to Michelle Obama as Barack's "Baby Mama?  It was one of the network's slimiest and most racist attacks on the couple. I say one of, because categorizing their playful fist bump as the behavior of terrorists also sort of falls into this category (except really it just showed that no one at Fox knows anyone under age 30).

So I've been wondering how Fox is going to treat Bristol Palin. Now I'm not, of course, suggesting the network should resurrect that vicious, hurtful language when discussing the teenager's pregnancy. Not at all.  And based on what I've seen I probably shouldn't worry. So far, Fox types have mostly talked about how proud they are of the Palins. Proud and supportive.

Given the network's ugly disdain for the marriage and motherhood of a woman who has been wed for 16 years and had two daughters with her husband, all I can say is that it's darn lucky for Bristol Palin that she's white.

Concerned American:

Why not answer the question? You conservatives have been trashing the black community over illegitimacy, affirmative action, and victimization for 30 years. Now when your vice presidential nominee is an affirmative action pick aimed at the victimization complex of white women who cannot deal with the fact that Hillary Clinton lost and has a daughter with an out of wedlock child.

You folks have the nerve to demand that liberals stop trying to destroy a 17 year old child ... what, when you conservatives have been mocking and defaming inner city black teenagers for 30 years? You are pretending that liberals and blacks haven't been listening to Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh or reading the American Spectator. Doesn't Bill O'Reilly do like 8 or 9 segments on black inner city illegitimacy a week? Hasn't the conservative dogma been for YEARS that the real reason for the problems in black America is not racism and poverty, but illegitimacy? Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and the rest of them love to put out this study that shows "with black children of TWO PARENT families, the achievement gap disappears." CONSERVATIVES are the ones who endlessly charge civil rights leaders for refusing to talk about fatherlessness and cheered when Bill Cosby did it. But when Obama started talking about those issues, rather than credit him for it, you conservatives bashed him as being willing to trash the black community to get white votes, and then trashed the black community for not turning on Obama over it!

By the way, I just happen to be someone who believes illegitimacy, especially in teenagers, to be horribly wrong. Why? Because I live near an inner city and see how damaging the fatherlessness culture is, how we are entering into our third generation of urban America with no concept of reality because it is the result of children raising children. With the reaction over Palin, you conservatives show yourselves that you could care less about illegitimacy, children, or for that matter Bristol Palin. You just want to win, and you don't care how it happens.

But hey, even though I do not have a horse in this race because I dislike both candidates, if McCain - the guy that you people were calling "McAmnesty" and denouncing for supporting global warming, opposing tax cuts, and his betraying your interests on federal judges JUST SIX MONTHS AGO - wins, it will be fun to start back listening to the Limbaugh and O'Reilly show once again just to see how you folks handle the illegitimacy issue from now on. Since bashing black teen mothers and affirmative action recipients is what takes up 80% of the content on your talk shows and blogs, it will be curious to see what you guys will be left to talk about now.

The hypocracy of the GOP's right wing, to include the prejudice of Fox News, would make Joseph Goebels blush.

For the last 8 years we have seen our economy, our place among nations, and our personal liberty get trashed by these liars: why would we trust them now?

It is assured that every GOP weakness will be repackaged as a "strength," and sold to the willfully ignorant like the crack that it is. Fox News can be trusted to be at the vanguard of this effort.

3.

Politicians will distort facts so support their own arguments. Alot of these politicians and political analysts change their stance on issues like the tides of the ocean. It is a shame.

4.

So none of y'all will admit that racism is still an issue on how we view the world eh?

I'm one BLACK conservative who will never be a republican because you think you speak for me but you don't. The racism comes from you all like alcohol seeping out of the pores of a drunkard. It was like watching a Klan rally last night in the RNC with a few token Blacks in the place that you would probably hang in the right circumstances. SHAME.

And the proof of Sarah Palin ideas failure lives under her very own roof!

Trust in God? I don't think so. Unlike most people, I realize that the probability that God exists is pretty low. Not to mention an even lower probability that God exists in the form you think it does.

WHY DONT EVERYBODY GET IT RIGHT AND PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD... NOT MERE MORTALS.. WE'RE KILLING HIS WORLD.. WE'RE KILLING EACH OTHER.. HE IS EXACTING VEGENCE IN THE WORLD, HE HASN'T BEEN HAPPY WITH OUR IGNORANCE FOR A L-O-N-G TIME. GOD AND HEAVEN HELP US ALL.
