John Edwards admits to affair with Rielle Hunter

So much for that speaking engagement at the Democratic National Convention. John Edwards is admitting to an affair with Rielle Hunter, AP reports:
Edwards told ABC News that he lied repeatedly about the affair but said that he didn't love the woman. He said he has not taken a paternity test but knows he isn't the father of her child because of the timing of the affair and the birth.
Uh, wow. So, if he doesn't love the other woman, that makes it okay? And he said this to the media? Out loud?
Okay, we've heard enough about John. Here's my question:
Tell us why below.

Well now we know why Edwards was so big on there being "two Americas!" Clearly one America was for his wife and kids and another Amercia was for his mistress and love child! At least he has enough room in that palace of his to house both Americas.

Sure he will. Teddy Kennedy killed a woman and the Democrates kept electing him...

Americans are so preoccupied with everyone else's sex lives--they must have none of their own.

If this had been a story about John McCain cheating on his current wife you better believe a "mainstream" newspaper would have broken the story. However such a story about Obama would have come out in the Enquirer and been met with a host of denial just like this. Probably just a coincidence.

Who is surprised? Politicians and power? There are men that equate power / sex as one! Who is so quick to judge those that have had affairs before (Craig, Spitzer, clinton, Foley)! And the wife has to stand w/him as a united front! This is really depressing, I am living through an affair myself and not sure that I can continue to live with a man that has "lied" to me everytime he looks at me!

Give me a break. The difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans are totally immoral and corrupt hypocrites - lest you brain-dead Republicans forget your own morally righteous lily-white Bob Livingston who was part of the dog pack that went after Bill Clinton. Mr. LIvingston so very sadly and tearfully was forced to resign as Majority Speaker because he was outed by Larry Flyntt about SEVERAL ILLICIT AFFAIRS!! And how about preacher Gingrich who was having his own illicit affair while part of the Republican scum group that went after Clinton - Preacher Gingrich who told his wife he was leaving her while she was having chemotherapy treatments in the hospital. Do we remember the Flynt Report? And how about McCain's own affair?
If you have A LOT OF TIME, google Bush scandals - you'll be reading for eternity. There is no end to that subject.
This is the mean, nasty Republican slime machine. They've got nothing to offer so they go after skeletons. What we need is another Flynt Report to out this hypocritical organization.
I am disgusted.

Why are people so quick to judge him. Calling him a liar... WOULDNT YOU LIE!? It wasnt anyones business but his wifes. He is a human being...everyone has skeletons in their closet. People who are quick to judge tend to have a few themselves. Im not saying he is right, but it's none of our business.
Edwards cheating on his wife does not demonstrate how he would have run the country. Bush lied about WMD's and got us in to a war that killed thousands of people. Edwards, Clinton, Newtson, McCain, and many other Republicans have cheated on their wives. It hurt no one but themselves. STAY OUT OF IT AMERICA. MInd your own business.

John Edwards the darling southern gentleman and someday President of the United States is NO MORE! Unfortunately, you can not travel state to state with your beloved cancer stricken wife and preach morality and expect immediate forgiveness. Edwards has disgraced his family and dishonored his beautiful wife. As Elizabeth struggles to "fight for her life" his eyes were not on her but on that of another. We can only pray their children are spared from the agony this will bring into their home. Regarding John's future political aspirations...I'd venture to say he's toast!

Because he said that he didn't love her..then He uses women for his own pleasure. Has no respect for women. He sure did not respect his wife..

John "Preppy" Edwards and Reille "Kept Woman" Hunter - The joke is on WE the people for being conned by a biotech/pharma personal injury plaintiff's lawyer.
Preppy may not have "loved" her, but he sure did "lust" her. Probably just visiting the baby of the real father at the Beverly Hilton, or maybe he and Reille were talking about pressing Democrat Party Political issues. To bad that Mrs. Edwards had to be publically humilitated in the process. Like all the others, Mrs. Jessie Jackson, Hillary, et. al. if would be surprising if Mrs. Edwards had the courage to leave Preppy. Codependency and the intoxicating effects of power triumph.

Okay. We have a moran in the white house who got away with war crimes but we are truly worried about Edwards' love affair. Wake up people. What are you more worried about: Economy or an afair? innocent people dying in Iraq or a love afair? People get over it!

Join the ranks of Antonio Villaraigosa, Gavin Newsome, Jesse Jackson, et al......Come to California and they'll make you a star ! LA Times: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH. Enquirer: SI SE PUEDE !

Kudos to the Enquirer for undressing this liar. Even after being caught, he continues to state that he was 99% honest during his denial. I can't wait to see where the Democratic party will will promote him. Domestic Affairs Czar ?

For those of you with such sharp tongues, how does that saying go?
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Edwards admits to the affair so now it's OK for the Times to report the story. Let's see if the Times will do anymore coverage of the real story and look into Andrew Young to see if he was paid to say he is the one who had the affair with Rielle Hunter. Also look into where Hunter's money was coming from. Even if Edwards is a Democrat do your job and report the news not just the things you want us to hear.

It's worse that Edwards outright comes out with statements that he never loved Hunter. It makes one wonder what part of him is so emotionally disconnected that he can be in an intimate relationship with someone for that length of time without having love for that person.
If he is telling the truth (this time) that he never loved her, than it's understandable that he could do this while he's still married to someone else. Being dead in the heart allows people to do all kinds of behaviors.

Give Demo's prop's for at least condemning his actions rather than trying to outlast or influence public responses with "some gobbleegook reasons why it's ok" or some other B.S. denials.
It's a given that his career is over and rightly so...BUT I must add that we can be thankful that unlike many so called FAMILY MINDED REPUBLICANS THERE WAS NO CHILD MOLESTING, OR BATHROOM HOMO EROTICA INVOLVED!

What did the LA Times know and when did they know it? WIth this on the Silky Pony...it should make him the front runner for the democratic normination in 2012. I mean, he is a liberal democrat. This is resume enhancement in their eyes.

I backed and voted for Edwards, todays news removes my support ever for this man. I have no tolerance for those who have no regard to honor their personal commitments. Also that is why I have no respect for McCain and his adultery with his first wife (even if he did marry the other Bimbo Cindy).

Lets remember people...Democrats have affairs, Republicans conspiracies. The only difference between the two is that the Republicans are boinking millions of people at a time instead of just one.

dp nails it. Edwards is getting (rightly) blasted on left wing web sites and has zero future getting elected to anything including local dog catcher, but if he were a Republican he would get a standing ovation from his fellow senators as Larry Craig and David Vitter did after their travails in an airport men's room or while wearing adult diapers with hookers.

oh dp, you're a creep

Here in North Carolina we can't stand this guy. He couldn't get elected to any office in this state. We have always known that he is slime packaged in a suit.
