Report: Waters drops Clinton for Obama
As other election news swirls, the Daily Breeze has this seemingly tiny but in fact very important story: Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) has let go of her previously tenacious support for Hillary Clinton and is now a Barack Obama supporter.
The move is significant to anyone trying to figure out what Clinton meant when she said she wouldn't be making any decisions this evening. Is she really going to try for the VP spot, or is she taking this all the way to the convention? Waters' move signals that Clinton's bid for the top spot is over.
Obama clinched the nomination based on primary results today in Montana and South Dakota.
Waters is an enormously influential figure in South Los Angeles and African American Democratic Party politics. Her endorsement is crucial to local candidates like Bernard C. Parks for county supervisor and Ron Wright for state Senate. Her slate card packs tremendous clout with voters.
She has been under tremendous pressure from other African American leaders to jettison Clinton for Obama, but she held firm. Until now.

How any African American could support HRC is beyond me. After the racist remards Hillary made any African American who would go along with her is out of their minds and have no respect for themselves or their race. Some people don't know when they've been insulted!!!

Imagine being on the wrong side of history at a historic time for the country and your constituents! Someone needs to challenge her in her district. Obama will need congresspeople with vision, and sense enough to see the right direction. A lot of these Black members participate in "group think" and don't make decisions for themselves. Not supporting Obama when he needed it, alone is enough of a platform to run off of in the Black communities. Its time for change . . .

What bothers me is where is Donna Brazille? I always felt she was in Clinton's pocket, at least Maxine showed her hand.

Unfortunately Maxine's a weathervane.
She's too late switching to Obama, due to hedging her bets until the last minute.
Why don't her LA constitutants see through her phoniness ?
