Dodger Talk ... and Talk ... and Talk ... from President Carter's Mom

Jimmy Carter's mom loooooved the Dodgers -- the Brooklyn Dodgers, he told me in an interview this week; "she adopted the Dodgers as her team because of them letting Jackie Robinson play.''

While Miz Lillian "hated" seeing the team move to Los Angeles, she reconciled herself, and followed the games via a huge antenna set up out by her fishpond in Georgia. Somehow, while Carter was in the White House, Miz Lillian finagled Tommy Lasorda's phone number. "On occasion she would call him on the phone and give him a hard time.'' Now, whenever Lasorda runs into Carter, he reminds the former president "that he's glad that my mother used to have his phone number, but he's kinda glad that it's more quiet now.''

Carter was in town promoting his Mother's Day homage book, "A Remarkable Mother.'' Want to hear the entire interview? Click here.

To all the war mongers out there who call Obama dangerous, if obama is dangerous then bush and those of his ilk are down right deadly. The so called war, was never a war. There can be no war if your enemy has no weapons and can pose no threat. So what you have is a slaughter, Indiscriminate killings of people that are different. Bush made a bet with himself to go to slaughter on the guise of weapons of mass destruction. He raised the ante, sending young American lives to a place they had no business going. He ignored all the experts who made it clear there were none.

In fact, to perceive that there could be such weapons from a country that we devastated just a decade earlier, borders on hyper paranoia. But I’m sure Bush wasn’t afraid of Iraq at all, This “war” was more a project then anything else. After 9-11, Bush believed he received a mandate from the American people to show the world that we are the strong, the mighty, and we will punish our enemies real or perceived. The search for weapons of mass destruction, Osama binladin and Al-Qaeda became an attack on Iraq, clearly the two had nothing to do with each other. It’s like searching for the Grand Canyon in Ohio.

For the flippant attitude of Bush and the Republican party of all the Innocent young Americans lives that are lost -not to mention the Iraqi children, there has to be an accounting. Our schools suffers, the economy, the price of oil, the food prices, foreclosures, the national debt, all these are much more pressing issues for America, then to spend billions of dollars to have soldiers sit around waiting for a bomb strapped to a ten year old kid.

America, through this election, is showing its absolute disdain for the current administration, and all who side with it, Democrat or Republican.

Bush needs to be held accountable in a court of justice. The American people cry out of justice. Nothing short of an arrest and trial , and when found guilty of lying to bring on the slaughter, his estate should be frozen and used to rebuilt this unfortunate war torn land of the Iraqis where so much pain and sorrow has taken place at his command.
