The Tao of the Dow, Eliot Spitzer-Style

March 12, 2008 |  9:21 am

Never underestimate the power of schadenfreude:

For the 400-point bump-up in the Dow, don’t thank any federal money policies.

Thank Eliot Spitzer. Wall Street was high-fiving itself over the downfall of a man who had prosecuted its heroes so vigorously.

If the day comes that Spitzer heads for the slammer, the Dow should leap a thousand points, and they’ll be beating out the rhythm of Toni Braxton’s "Just Be a Man About It" on the closing bell.
