Regarding Global Warming -- Signed, Sealed and Delivered. I find it quite ironic that Ms Oreskes goes on about there being a "scientific consensus" regarding global warming yet the irony in her own piece names other noted scientists that don't agree.
A consensus would indicate complete agreement which is obviously not the case. Perhaps she should say there is a "scientific opinion" that many in the science community believe.
Furthermore, to rule out other factors such as cosmic radiation, sunspot activity etc because there is not "evidence" seems rather unscientific.
The climatological models are all based upon huge amounts of data pushed through complicated algorithms crunched non-stop by supercomputers. The complexity of the model and the base understanding is not completely understood. To say with 100% authority that GW is a complete scientific certainty caused by man is a dangerous statement form a scientist.

Because of Bush, Iraq is in a mess.
Iran may be a threat in the future, but it is not a threat now.
We have time to think about what to do with Iran, if we need to do anything at all.
We need to start thinking about the best ways to solve problems in the Middle East, and not create new ones.
Because Bush and the Republican Party have no clue how to fix the mess we are in with Iraq, it is best that he and they do nothing with Iran.
Wait until the voters pick better leaders, and believe me, that will not be a hard thing to do.
I am,
