RIAA talks smack at NAB
I love this. Clip 'n' save!
Now, let's see how long it takes for the NAB's lobbying forces to respond. So far, they've made the musicFIRST Coalition folks look like amateurs in the clever PR department, and they're building up a sizable defensive presence on Capitol Hill on this issue. But this coupon is brilliant! I wonder how many weeks it took them to pull it together....

The response from NAB took 7 minutes. Here's the quote from Dennis Wharton, the group's spokesman: "This is about as clever as RIAA destroying its business model by suing grandmas and college kids."
There they go, playing the grandma card again....

The funnest part of this, of course, is that the royalty structure for broadcasters works the way it does because of bad behavior by RIAA members in the '50s and '60s.

Don't you think that people shouldn't be going after people who steal their music off limewire and instead, play a great concert to make money? It seems like musicians nowadays make more money off of suing college kids for downloading their music than if they were to play concerts and sell their music the legit way. People will always find a way to pirate music.
